The Home T - Comfort for a Cause

I recently purchased the most amazing shirt. It’s a shirt with the word home and the border of Illinois, my home state. It is the softest shirt I've ever owned, and is quickly becoming my favorite to wear. I had seen some celebs sporting the shirt, such as Hilary Duff and Dierks Bentley (my favorite guy, ahem, other than my hubby).

When I went to see the cost of the shirt I was at first taken aback…$28 for a t-shirt?! But then I read up on what happens with some of that money. A portion of profits is donated to multiple sclerosis research. What a great cause! So I quickly decided to support the company and order a shirt. Next purchase, because there will be another, will be the one with the border of the USA. I wish they had toddler sizes; I’d by one for Maddie! Don’t forget: 100% made in the USA!

The shirts are available in grey or blue and are unisex sizes. I found their sizing chart very helpful when placing my order. Definitely agree that it has a vintage feel to it.

“The Home T-shirt is a stylish way to show off your state pride, while also helping raise money for multiple sclerosis research”. Agreed!

I chose the blue shirt - What do you think?

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

I'm usually all for getting up early and checking out the collaborations between Target and designers. But for some reason the Phillip Lim collection wasn't really calling my name. I did still go to Target to check it out in person, as online you can never tell. For this particular collection I didn't have to bump elbows with anyone or stalk a piece until someone let it go. There was a small section of about 25 items. I was mostly impressed by the purses, not so much by the clothes. I only like one item in apparel.

Top Handle Crossbody - Taupe 34.99

The store only had the yellow version :( Other wise I would have purchased.

                    Travel Wallet - Black 19.99

This was available and I contemplated the purchase, but passed.

Canvas Drawstring Travel Bag - Olive 49.99

This looks awesome online, but have no idea in person...

The one clothing item I'd go with is the below:

Long-Sleeve Blouse -Green 29.99

I may still go back and buy this, it has potential :)

All Eyes On Britney

Britney Spears has made it official this morning that she will be doing a two year residency in Las Vegas which starts December 27th at Planet Hollywood. Who's excited? Me, me, me! I heart Britney. I've been planning by birthday getaway since the minute I heard the news. Here's hoping for a trip to Sin City this Winter! (Wishful thinking). Although I wouldn't be able to afford any of the outrages fan packages, meet and greet starts at $1,500 a ticket, I think I can surely get the regular priced tickets, which looks like General Admission will be available right by the stage. The ticket prices will be just under $200 ($66.50-$194). The norm for a Vegas stint. Now my next dilemma...what to wear?!

No.Sleep.Till... Molars Are All In

At first I couldn't figure it out. Why isn't Maddie sleeping? Is it because her schedule is off during the weekend? Did we disrupt what she’s used to? Then it hit me. Just when I thought I was finally going to get some real sleep Maddie decides its time to get her molars! So what does this mean for us? Well for me it means less sleep. For Maddie it means getting up every 3 hours crying in what I can only imagine is pain. Her cries sound so different from her usual cries. So I’m up nursing my 15 month old because that just makes her feel better. But at the same time she is nursing longer, and well not necessarily nursing but just sticking around for the fun of it I suppose. During the day after I get home from work she just wants me to hold her, which I love to do, but I've got to try and get dinner made, and she just doesn't want to let go. (So yes, we've getting take out a little too often now).

I've tried Hylands Teething Tablets, which really help, but I have to continuously give them to her, which for me works in the daytime, but at night time the pain comes back while she is asleep and she starts to cry again. It all seems better once I bring her into bed with me, but I don’t want her to get used to that. It’s nice to have her sleep in her own crib, in her own room. For most of Maddie's middle of the night wake up calls I've handled the majority of figuring there’s not much my hubby can do since I'm still nursing. He tries to help, but really Maddie's just going to get more frustrated if I don’t pick her up. There’s no reason for both of us to be walking zombies in the morning. Right now I only see one, but that just means there’s three more to go. I hope for both her sake and my sanity this is over soon. I think I’ll just let her chew on anything she wants if its going to calm her down…right now she likes the couch and she can’t keep her fingers out of her mouth, creating mounds of drool everywhere.

Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick - Mystic Plum

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick from People StyleWatch Style Hunters to try and review. All opinions are my own.

I have to admit that when I saw I would be receiving MaryKay True Dimensions Lipstick ($18) in the Mystic Plum shade I was a little worried. What was that going to look like on me? I imagined a dark grape purple shade going on my lips and making me look too goth. Well I was surprised as this was not the case. The color went on very smoothly in a tone that was a bit on the red side, well at least that’s what it looked like on my skin. I liked it. It’s a great shade for the fall. I love Mary Kay’s description for the lipstick, “It's like a color-infused fountain of youth for your lips”. It helps moisturize your lips while helping smooth out the appearance of fine lines. It said it would make lips look fuller, but that I didn't really notice. See picture below. Does it look alright on me? I hope so, since I plan on wearing it again. I also love the casing! Push the clear top down to release the lipstick, so fun and cool.
